Automation
Originally, I defined a few categories: One is Visualization One is Notification One is Automation
Visualization refers to digital dashboards, mainly 📊 charts, where various data are clear at a glance.
For example, Bitcoin price and trends. For example, brief summaries of various news aggregation headlines.
Notification is triggered through various methods such as apps, SMS, email, sound, etc.
Triggering notifications at critical time points.
For example, weather forecasts: notifying before rain, so you can prepare raincoats and umbrellas.
You can bring in clothes or other items in advance.
The most important is automation.
For example, the aforementioned bringing in clothes before rain: now there are smart curtains and retractable poles, which can automatically bring in clothes when linked.
When applied to social media, it means automatic posting, video uploading, automatic replies, etc.
OpenClaw
The reason it’s popular is that it’s equivalent to a digital employee.
It can automatically help you do many things, such as organizing information, executing specific tasks, etc.
While its capabilities may not be top-tier, it offers excellent cost-effectiveness.
For instance, if you were to hire an employee to organize news and weather forecasts for you daily, it would be unnecessary.
But with OpenClaw, it’s fast, good, costs less, and can even be free.
I used to consider hiring several employees—frontend, backend, finance, design, etc.—and even setting up a company.
But with AI,
I alone can complete the workload of several people in a month, with almost zero cost.
Semi-Automation
Achieving full automation is not very realistic.
However, semi-automation is very necessary.
For example, with my current app, I have automated blog publishing, from voice transcription, text translation, automatic push notifications, and publishing, as well as automatic index submission, etc.
I just need to click ‘publish,’ saving several hours of work per article.
Similarly, I’ve integrated YouTube short videos into the app, allowing one-click compression, upload, channel selection, and default tag settings. Later, I will add automatic subtitles, automatic voiceovers, automatic background music, automatic filters, and so on.
The entire operation is automated, and scheduled tasks can be set.
Review
The benefit of semi-automation is manual confirmation before publishing.
This avoids errors generated by automation, such as sensitive vocabulary.
Once semi-automation has run long enough and generated sufficient returns, you can try to optimize it for full automation.
This automation can be purely server-based, or it can involve human intervention.
Other Automations
In the past, some people used scheduled tasks for check-ins.
Platforms gained users, and users gained small benefits.
This is also a form of automation.
Currently, I’ve spent several weeks optimizing the semi-automation for my blog and YouTube.
All operations are integrated into my phone, making it convenient for me to operate and view anytime, anywhere.
Later, if there are other automations and operations, I will integrate them into the app.
